Neunter Zweitliga-Trainer: Wie schlägt sich Anfang?

Markus Anfang hat mit dem 2:0-Sieg beim VfL Bochum ein erfolgreiches Pflichtspiel-Debüt für den 1. FC Köln gefeiert. Der 44-Jährige ist der neunte Zweitliga-Trainer der Geissböcke. Fünf seiner Vorgänger gelang der Aufstieg, drei scheiterten. Ihre Starts in die Saison liefen grundverschieden. 

Köln – Drei Punkte zum Anfang auswärts, danach zwei Heimspiele vor der Brust: Mit diesem Auftakt stieg schon Christoph Daum mit den Geissböcken auf. Anfang soll es ihm gleich tun, nur souveräner. Denn die Daum’sche Saison reichte nur zu Platz drei, was in diesem Jahr die Relegation bedeuten würde. Das will man beim FC unbedingt vermeiden.

Unter Stöger am erfolgreichsten

Ein Blick auf die Zweitliga-Trainer des 1. FC Köln zeigt, dass ein Auftaktsieg nicht immer etwas Gutes bewirken muss, auch nicht, wenn danach zwei Heimspiele folgen. Im Sommer 1998 gelang auch Bernd Schuster einst ein Auswärtssieg in seinem ersten Spiel als FC-Coach. Anschließend hätten Schuster und die Geissböcke mit zwei Heimspielen in Folge den Saisonstart veredeln können. Gegen Unterhaching gab es aber die erste Niederlage, gegen Ulm nur einen Punkt. Es folgten drei weitere Niederlagen hintereinander, darunter das blamable 1:6 bei Hannover 96.

Aber auch nahezu durchweg gute Starts in die Saison haben nicht jedem Trainer geholfen. Hans Peter Latour gewann vier der ersten fünf Zweitliga-Spiele und zog auch im DFB-Pokal in die zweite Runde ein. Doch in den folgenden sieben Spielen gelang nur noch ein Sieg – nicht in der Liga, sondern im DFB-Pokal. Im Herbst 2006 war der Schweizer entlassen.

Die erfolgreichste Zweitliga-Saison spielte der 1. FC Köln übrigens unter Peter Stöger. Die 68 Punkte und nur 20 Gegentore sind das Beste, was der Effzeh in seinen acht Jahren im Unterhaus zustande brachte.
